The cornerstones of high quality, caring dentistry focused solely on your health and wellbeing.
We believe that clear, effective, and above all, honest communication is perhaps the most crucial element in helping patients to understand the state of their oral health, and in turn to make decisions which benefit their long term oral health. We appreciate that people are different - some like to know every detail and feel in control, whereas others don’t sweat the small stuff and are happy to be guided! We will always endeavour to communicate in a manner you are comfortable with.
In our clinic, ethical treatment planning is at the core of how we believe dentists should care for their patients, with treatment plans tailored to your dental health and goals, and taking into account time and financial considerations. We love tackling complex dental rehabilitations and cosmetic work, and if your oral health needs significant dental interventions we will discuss problems and possible solutions in an informative manner. Similarly, if everything looks great and all you need is regular preventative care, then that is all we will suggest for you.
A picture is worth a thousand words, and in our clinic, we love taking pictures of teeth! The days of accepting treatment without really knowing what is actually happening are long gone. When we examine your teeth, we believe it is important for patients to be able to see exactly what we see, and if any problems are detected, to be able to visualise and understand these with the aid of photographs. We also take photos before, during, and after all restorative dental procedures to document what has been done and why, and to be able to show you the improvements we are making to your dental health.
Have you ever asked your dentist whether they have Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to fulfil or a targeted amount of money they are supposed to invoice per hour? You might be surprised to find out that the majority of health fund owned and corporate dental groups enforce the dentists who work for them to meet KPIs such as ‘$ amount diagnosed per patient’, or quotas such as ‘number of crowns placed per month’. You might also then query what place these measures have in a healthcare setting, and what effects these have on the treatment which is suggested to you. We absolutely reject this notion. We believe in treating our patients according to what best serves their health, not what best serves our profits.
The dental treatment we provide in our clinic will always be driven and informed by the most up-to-date scientific evidence available to us. In keeping with our core philosophy, the techniques we employ are designed to give the best and longest lasting clinical outcomes for our patients, rather than being the quickest to provide with the highest profit margins.
We know that ‘form follows function’, and the shape and appearance of healthy teeth are no exception. This is why we don’t just ‘fill’ teeth, we recreate teeth as nature intended them, and believe that high-quality modern dental work should blend into the natural teeth such that the distinction between natural tooth structure and artificially replaced tooth structure (restorations) should be almost imperceptible. We take great pride in our level of skill and workmanship, and always document before and after photos to show you what we have done. If you’ve never seen photos of what your dental care looks like, have you ever wondered why that might be?
We strongly believe in equitable and fair access to high quality dental treatment for all patients. This means that no matter what your individual situation, you will be given all of the options and treated with respect. When it comes time for treatment, whether you have been a loyal patient for 10 years, or are a new patient to the practice, you can rest assured we will deliver our very best,
We are in the business of providing our patients with high quality, long lasting dental treatment; the foundation of this is attention to detail, and taking pride in our work. Sometimes this means that despite our best intentions, we may run over time to deliver our best every time, rather than drop our standards or cut corners. Could we cut a few corners, do things faster, and in turn charge more item numbers per hour like the competition? Of course, but profits are not what should drive a healthcare practice.
